Care Not Cuffs is a public health campaign that seeks to disentangle mental health from the criminal justice system by providing alternate pathways for treating and managing mental illness in our communities. We’re working with Mental Health Colorado to demand a health-based response to a health care need.
In the absence of adequate access to health services, people with unmanaged mental health needs often intersect with law enforcement and spend time in jails, cycling in and out of detention, homelessness, and joblessness. Calling 9-1-1 for a mental health emergency frequently results in a law enforcement response, leading to a significantly heightened risk of injury and fatality.
We know many of the solutions that need to be implemented. We just need the political will and prioritization to make it happen. The first phase of our campaign focuses on increasing education and demand. By going directly to the people, we aim to build public support for investing in preventative and supportive health care and, in turn, reducing the need to perpetuate ongoing spending on policing, courts, and incarceration. For change to happen, we need community momentum toward putting in place the necessary supports and services to avoid the ongoing incarceration of our mentally ill.

DC For 51 is a public awareness and action campaign working to achieve DC statehood and end systemic disenfranchisement of the 712,000 Americans living in the heart of our democracy.
This is a voting rights issue, a racial justice issue, and even a public health and safety issue.
DC residents pay more in federal taxes than 22 states but lack basic voting rights and representation in Congress.
Of its 712k citizens, 54% are people of color and 46% are Black. Denying DC statehood is systemic disenfranchisement that exacerbates the structural inequities already endured by people of color in our country.
Even though it is more populous than both Vermont and Wyoming, DC has received less than half the COVID-19 relief funding as the 50 states due to its lack of statehood.
Recent events have made clear the urgency of DC statehood. On January 6th, The Trump Administration waited to act on Mayor Muriel Bowser’s request to deploy the National Guard to stop the assault on the Capitol. This resulted in one of the darkest days for American democracy. Those who were most impacted by the riot – the people of DC – have no senators and so had no say in the outcome of the impeachment trial.
Our campaign seeks to make DC statehood a national priority. We’re working to raise awareness of the issue and educate on the ways DC’s lack of statehood negatively impacts nearly a million Americans. Furthermore, we are encouraging Americans who enjoy the privilege of Congressional representation to contact their senators and tell them that it is time the people of DC received the same voting rights and representation afforded to Americans living in all 50 states

Go Local is a social impact campaign that celebrates community by encouraging people to shop locally, support small business, and, in turn, invest in their own neighborhoods.
The campaign unites a coalition of business owners, community leaders, landlords, and consumers around a fundamental fact: For every $1 spent at a local small business, 45 cents go back into the community, funding neighborhood schools, parks, services, and infrastructure. That’s because local small businesses are more likely to hire locally, source materials and supplies locally, work with other local vendors, and support local charities and events.
We currently have a pilot campaign underway across a handful of Midwestern states with an aim of increasing consumer education about the vital role that local small businesses play in sustaining the communities in which they exist. Your generous contribution helps us expand our work and support an even greater number of small businesses across the country.
Global Impact currently does not have a rating with Charity Navigator.
However, until May 2015 we maintained a three-star rating with this organization.
The reason for the change is not due to poor performance, but rather is due to the
fact that Global Impact recently changed our operating model, which changed how our
financial statements are structured.
Since Charity Navigator’s methodology compares current
financials to previous financials, and the comparative financial information has changed based
on the new model, they cannot appropriately rate us at this time. We understand that we will
regain our rating within two years when our new financial statements can be compared to a previous
year.
Global Impact’s financial performance, transparency and credibility as strong as ever.
Please see our BBB and other ratings for assessments of our performance.
There are so many important issues that need our attention. So many inspiring initiatives that need support. Entertain Impact created the Campaign Fund to allow people to support the social impact campaigns they believe in.
We’re currently working on the below campaigns. If you see one that aligns with you, make a tax-deductible contribution.
In addition to the above social impact campaigns, we’re currently in the research phase to assess the scope and viability of a campaign to increase education and access around impending Coronavirus vaccines as well as a campaign for Washington D.C. statehood, an effort to empower nearly 700,000 mostly people of color with representation. If you like what we’re working on, donate here to the Campaign Fund to help us build the change you want to see.
